November 15, 2024 – In a Wall Street Journal article about websites that can connect students with thousands of funding options for college, Shannon Vasconcelos, senior director of education finance at Bright Horizons College Coach shares her advice. 

“If a student has a particular career field targeted, professional associations affiliated with that field can also be a source of scholarship funding,” says Shannon Vasconcelos, senior director of education finance at Bright Horizons College Coach.

“Sometimes, professional associations will require you to have a paid membership in order to be eligible for any scholarships that they offer. You should make sure to weigh the cost of membership against the likelihood of receiving a scholarship, and take note of other professional benefits you may receive in exchange for the cost of membership,” adds Vasconcelos.
