What types of back-up care are available to clients?

Our vast network of care ensures a variety of options, including both in-home and center-based care, as well as tutoring and camps. Care is there when employees need it and can be flexed to accommodate a nontraditional work schedule. Back-up care is available for: 

  • Infants, toddlers and preschoolers 
  • School-age children 
  • Elderly relatives
  • Tutoring – for dependents of all ages 
  • Pets 

Do you offer reimbursable care?

While the vast majority of care requests can be directly sourced by owned and operated providers, we understand that sometimes self-sourced care is needed by employees. For these instances, we offer two primary reimbursement options: 

  1. Traditional reimbursement – Employees find a caregiver through personal connections and reimburse the cost with their employer 
  2. Enhanced reimbursement – Employees can integrate their personal connections into Sittercity, our national database of verified in-home caregivers, giving them a wider range of trusted providers to choose from 

Configured to client preferences, these options provide an easy-to-use, secure way to reimburse employees for care from our nationwide network of verified providers or friends and family.  

How large is Bright Horizons’ network?

Bright Horizons’ owned and directly contracted providers are at the heart of our network. As the only care provider with hands-on operational experience in nearly every care category, we manage a vast network of more than 1,000 centers and 200,000 in-home caregivers.We are also the only provider that operates school-age programs, such as field trips and summer camps, to cover school breaks and other schedule gaps.

If employees are not able to find care in-network, we offer flexible options to find their own care, including through their friends and family, and request reimbursement.
