Kindergarten Prep Classroom at Bright Horizons at Raleigh Corporate Center Collects Over 800 Pounds of Food for Local Food Bank

December 4, 2024 – Each year, the Kindergarten Prep classroom at Bright Horizons at Raleigh Corporate Center in Raleigh, NC hosts a food drive for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. The food drive is an important cause that has become part of the children’s learning on thankfulness and giving during the holiday season. 

“This is an incredible learning experience for our children,” said Brandi Nobles, Center Director at Bright Horizons at Raleigh Corporate Center. “This year, one of the children printed off the food bank’s “wish list’ and brought it to the grocery store with him. He worked diligently to pick out one of each item on the list using money donated by his grandmother. This is just one wonderful example of how teaching children the importance of giving back at a young age benefits the community.” 

Each day of the food drive, the Kindergarten Prep class helped to collect the food out of the donation box and pack it in boxes in their classroom until the final day of the drive.  At the end, the children successfully collected 836 pounds of food for the food bank.
