These are sentiments from three of the more than 4,000 U.S. employees who responded to a survey about the connections between well-being and work. The survey provided new insight into the importance of employee/organizational connectedness, and the crucial link between an employee's connection to the mission and his or her performance.
Employees with a strong connection to their organization's mission look dramatically different from their less-connected peers; they're more positive and committed. The survey findings elucidate how this connection positively impacts four major indicators of a great workplace: job satisfaction, employee engagement, retention, and positive supervisor ratings.
