Bright Horizons stands for many causes, perhaps few so passionately as this: everyone’s welcome.
So signing on for the Human Rights Campaign’s Business Coalition for the Equality Act? That was a natural.
Putting our signature where our HEART is.
Treating All Employees the Same
Nearly two-thirds of LGBTQ Americans report having experienced discrimination in their personal lives, says the Human Rights Campaign. The Equality Act would guarantee permanent protections for people who so very much need it. The Business Coalition represents the many employers nationwide who stand behind it.
“The overwhelming majority of America’s leading businesses have already started addressing workplace fairness,” writes the coalition website. “But we still need a federal standard that treats all employees the same.”
We’re proud to pledge our support.
Joining with Employers; Sending a Message
Signing on is an unequivocal statement of what we believe.
As our Senior Director of Diversity & Inclusion Scarlett Abraham Clarke put it, "Diversity is not just an initiative for us. It is a journey that continues to evolve as our workforce evolves."
It also unites us with hundreds of employers around the country – many of whom we’re proud to call clients. And it sends an equally important message to employees.
"Bright Horizons lives by the HEART Principles,” say Bright Horizons’ LGBTQ Employee Advisory Group Co-Chairs Jamie Kirkland and Joelle Guymon, “and is bold enough to walk them. What this says is that at the HEART of it, we all matter."
Unequivocally true.
To our LGBTQ family, we say it loud and proud.
Welcome.
