Materials Needed:
- 2 Socks
- Permanent marker
- Non-chokeable decorative supplies (optional)
Participants: This activity is intended for independent play and adult/child interaction.
Directions:
- Draw eyes, a nose, and a mouth on socks to make two puppets (use caution to avoid decorative supplies that may pose a choking hazard).
- Put one of the socks on your hand. Use it as a puppet to talk to your child. Be silly. Give the puppet a name. Perhaps it’s a pet or a friend. The puppet can describe what you’re doing, label objects in the house, sing songs, or even tell stories
- Let your child use the other puppet, if desired. Try to initiate a back and forth conversation.
