Cup Towers

This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to build tolerance of frustration and encourage persistence in building.

Materials Needed:

  • Stacking cups or plastic cups of any shape or size
  • Pictures of towers or buildings e.g. Eifel Tower

Participants: This activity is intended for independent play and can be adult/child interactions.

Directions:

  1. Gather cups to use.
  2. Have your child stack the cups into towers. When it falls down, encourage them to try again and start again.
  3. Show your child the pictures of towers that exist in the world and see if they can recreate the tower using their cups.
