This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to use large muscles to move and balance their own bodies.
Materials Needed:
- Blanket
- Soft ball
Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction and 2 or more participants/players.
Directions:
- Show your child how to grab the edges of the blanket. Lift your arms up to raise the blanket over your heads. Let it fall and repeat several times.
- Place the ball on the blanket and lift again. Can you keep the ball on the blanket?
- Place the blanket on the floor. Roll the ball across the blanket to your child. Ask them to roll it back
Learn More: A blanket can become so many things—a parachute, a fort, or a magic carpet. What else can you do with the blanket? Make it playful and silly
