April 16, 2025 – Bright Horizons participated in the Week of the Young Child®, an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). For the second consecutive year, Bright Horizons was the proud sponsor of Artsy Thursday, a day to celebrate the joy and learning children experience when engaged in creative art making. The Week of the Young Child®, which took place April 7-April 11, is a fun-filled week celebrating the importance of early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities. All week Bright Horizons centers nationwide encouraged children and their families to take part in center activities that promoted learning and development.

Enrolled and community families were invited to stop by the center and unleash their inner artist. Center staff displayed the latest art projects from the children while families participated in hands-on art experiences like creating a community mural, designing nature family portraits and sensory painting.

“At Bright Horizons the center community is so important. We know parents aren’t just looking for high-quality child care and early education, but for a true community that brings families together. Our family events, like Artsy Thursday, are just one part of what makes us so special,” said Rachel Robertson, Chief Academic Officer at Bright Horizons.

Other activities planned during the week included Music Monday where children sang, danced, and listened to their favorite music to help develop their language and early literacy skills. During Work Together Wednesday, teachers and children worked together on STEM projects like planting seeds and pulling weeds from their center’s on-site garden.
