I entered higher education through the office of professional development at the School of Education at Oakland University. In that role, I assisted career changers looking to go into a teaching program, graduate level programs, and professional development courses.
A monumental moment in my career came in 2015 when I was asked to accompany faculty to Beijing China to facilitate training for the application process for a Mandarin Chinese partnership cohort. This was a wonderful experience that I will never forget. Being able to articulate the multi-faceted process and work with multiple departments in collaboration with a global program was very rewarding.
As an adult learner, I have personally experienced the challenges of completing a degree, while working full-time, helping with family, and living life. I bring a level of care and empathy when assisting employees with their questions and concerns. My experience as an adult learner, appreciation of diverse experiences and backgrounds, and personal desire to see people achieve their life goals is ultimately why I joined EdAssist.
