Eva Dith De Leon

In my role as a pre-nursing advisor at California State University, I worked with a high caseload of students and prospective students on academic advising, career and personal goalsetting, and eliminating barriers to student success. With the Department of Nursing, I evaluated over 400 admissions applications per year. I was also involved with successful programmatic accreditation and program review. I have experience working with students from all walks of life including, but not limited to, first generation, student -athletes, underserved populations, transfers, and non-traditional. As a part-time instructor, I taught first-year seminar courses to help students make connections with key members of the campus community who can contribute to academic success.

With my experience advising at both the university and community college levels, I really took to advocating for learners, identifying different learning styles and cultivating it through the advising relationship. In as such, my advising and coaching approach is to meet learners where they are and provide resources that lead to their educational and career goals.
