Academic Advisor University of Maryland Global Campus
Academic Counselor Defiance College
My passion for higher education started right before I graduated college with my undergraduate in Psychology. I found myself sad to be graduating in a few short weeks. I had the best academic advisor assist me on my journey and I believe because of her my interest grew to also become an advisor in higher education.

I had already been on a path to work in mental health and addiction when I graduated with my psychology degree. While I enjoyed working in this area, I missed the higher education atmosphere. I decided to go back to school to receive my Master’s in Higher Education Administration and started working with low-income adolescents, coaching them in job training, education, and life skills. Through this experience, I was able to gain employment at a small private liberal arts institute, Defiance College where I was an admissions counselor. I still felt the need to help students on their academic journey more closely which is when I landed a position with University of Maryland Global Campus as an academic advisor. Later, I happened upon Bright Horizons and instantly felt a connection with their goals and culture. I am so happy to say I have loved every moment of working as an academic coach on the EdAssist team!
