It takes something called “working memory” to remember a lot of things. Working memory is one of the brain skills that help us learn, solve problems, and make decisions. Have fun working on your working memory by playing this game.
Materials Needed:
- A pen or pencil
- A way to time yourself (e.g. Stopwatch)
- Look at the picture on page two of the PDF and try to remember everything on the page. You can look for one minute but you can’t write anything down.
- Turn the picture over and write down as many items as you remember.
- Try again! Use the challenge photo on page three of the PDF and see if you can spot the five new things and remember the rest! (Be sure to cover up the list on the left!) Or, you can shorten your time and try to do it in 30 seconds. You can make your own game using found items and a tray. You can compete with your friends or family.
