This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to develop increasing care for self, others, and the environment.
Materials Needed:
- Healthy finger foods, such as sliced berries, kiwi, cheese, cucumber, turkey, or hard-boiled egg (use bite-size pieces of soft foods that aren’t a choking hazard).
- Dips such as yogurt
Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction
Directions:
- Place one food in each section of the ice cube tray. Tell your child the name of each food.
- Offer the ice cube tray along with a small bowl of dip.
- Encourage your child to try the foods, along with the dip.
Even children who are hesitant eaters enjoy choosing from a variety of beautifully presented, bright foods.
